Bald Eagles have been America's national bird for over 200 years. Did you know that bald eagles aren't actually bald? They just have little white feathers that make it look like they don't have any hair on their head. Bald Eagles usually eat fish. They have wonderful eyesight, therefore they can spot a fish in the water from 10,000 feet in the air! They catch their fish by swooping down at 100 MPH and snatching the fish out of the water! When eagles are first born, they don't have the white feathers on their head. The white feathers actually start to grow when they are around 4 years old. Did you know that bald eagles can live up to approximately 35 years in the wild?
